Teenage anxiety disorder is more common in today's hectic schedule of studies and activities. Types of Teenage Anxiety Disorder

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

GAD is a common form of disorder that usually affects a person making them worried over a period of time say few months till the problem persist. This disorder affects the everyday living makes one sluggish with their activities with tiredness, headaches, developing muscle tension causing intense pain in head, neck, shoulder and sleeplessness.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

As the name says this anxiety is caused due to compulsive instruction or forceful thought. This makes the mind more confused and irritated over time struggling from within to overcome from this problem of compulsiveness. Fear on forgetfulness, not following perfection, becoming sick etc fall under the causes of anxiety in this case.

Panic Disorder

Its an intense feel of anxiety that causes panic disorder making one go out of control with mental disturbances. They often occur with an outbreak of breathing difficulty, trembling hands and legs, chest pains, congested feel in the respiratory track, heaviness in head etc.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

PTSD is a form of anxiety that occurs as a result of emotional outburst of shock or irritation. This sort of anxiety can be experienced when one happens to meet with accident, witness an accident or violence, emotional attacks, etc. Some of the symptoms include difficulty to fall asleep, nightmares, lack of interest in normal activities, irritated feel, difficulty in concentration, and fearfulness.

Phobia

Phobia is an unusual or excessive fear on certain objects, situations or places that are unrealistic, but affect the patience of all age. Teenage anxiety is more common due to phobia as they get used to more fearful situations at younger age. Most of the phobias are of specific centered upon water, heights, animals, darkness, etc. Usually people with these phobias restrict these sorts of situations that cause fear, that hinders the general life style.

Anxiety disorder treatment


Anxiety and depression disorder has to be treated with utmost care and on time for best results. Psychological therapy and medication methods are the two general ways to treat anxiety disorders.

Psychological treatment includes the cognitive behavioral therapy and applied mind relaxation with meditation and yoga practices that calms down the stressed mental pressure bringing in peace of mind. It also strengthens the mind and brings more refreshment for a healthy life.

Medication includes the method of long term and short term medication treatment for depression symptoms. Long-term medication includes Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, venlafaxine, pregabalin. Short-term medication includes antihistamines, benzodiazepines and Buspirone. Depending on the anxiety and depression symptoms treatment on medication varies. There are different types of medicines available to cure anxiety and stress but it depends on the patient's condition the treatment is being offered.
